CULINARY DELIGHTS IN THE ARCHIPELAGO

The islands taste of forest, sea and season.
At Kalliokumpu, we combine slow food, local ingredients and Nordic cuisine (mostly vegetarian/vegan with fresh fish) to create unique experiences: from island breakfasts and picnic lunches to signature dinners at the Nordic Archipelago Chef's Table. Every meal tells a story – about the island, the sea, the forests and the people who live here.

ISLAND BREAKFAST & LODGE DINNER

Start the day with a breakfast of fresh, local ingredients – berries, herbs, breads, catches from the archipelago.
In the evening, our lodge dinner awaits you: relaxed, seasonal, inspired by the rhythm of the island.

LUNCH PICNIC ON THE ISLAND

Whether you're out paddling, hiking or on the beach, our lunch picnics bring the island right to your table. Everything is fresh, locally sourced and sustainably packaged.

SIGNATURE DINNER – NORDIC ARCHIPELAGO CHEF'S TABLE

Our culinary highlight: Signature Dinner, combining foraging, terroir and Nordic cuisine. A maximum of 8 guests, every ingredient sourced directly from the archipelago – an exclusive experience that combines nature, flavour and stories.

Chefs Table

NORDIC ARCHIPELAGO CHEF'S TABLE

With the Nordic Archipelago Chef's Table, we celebrate the nature of the Finnish archipelago: the forests, the sea and the seasons. Our menu is seasonal, terroir-driven and ‘Forest & Sea to Table’, cooked from ingredients that we gather, fish or source from small producers in the archipelago.

The evening begins in the island forest with a sauna & löyly ritual. Those who wish to can actively participate; this is accompanied by a botanical aperitif: a Nordic ferment or herbal tea. Those who do not take part in the sauna can enjoy the aperitif on the veranda or in a quiet spot in the forest.

At 8:00 p.m., we gather at the communal table. One menu per evening – freshly cooked and personally served – connects guests, stories and flavours. Foraging plays a central role: herbs, berries, mushrooms and algae directly from the island. Zero waste and sustainability are our guiding principles.

To conclude: an open-fire dessert ritual under the starry sky, optionally with a digestif by the campfire and the scent of birch embers.

ARCHIPELAGO COOKING CLASSES

In our cooking classes, we create classic dishes from Finnish archipelago cuisine and offer a fantastic opportunity to explore the culture and traditions of the archipelago in a creative and tasty way. We use fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The courses take place in small groups (min. 2 to max. 8 people) and begin with a relaxed aperitif (non-alcoholic) to get to know each other. After a brief introduction to the dishes and an explanation of the ingredients, we prepare the dishes together under Sami's guidance. The courses are suitable for all levels of cooking experience.

;-) And because we want to introduce you to the cuisine of our former home, we offer two special courses on Bavarian cuisine and pre-Christmas stollen baking.
